The DoC EdTech Lab works on developing innovative software tools to support learning and teaching. We employ modern software engineering practices to develop software rapidly, in an iterative fashion, and then progress successful tools from prototypes to production.
News: Peer Assessment
Over summer 2021, we developed a new peer assessment tool. Development was led by two of our students, Freddy Jiang and David Loughlin, who were interning with the EdTech Lab over the summer. The tool allows staff to set up peer assessment exercises as part of team projects, allowing team members to score one another and provide feedback anonymously. Staff can use this to keep a check on how well groups are collaborating, and to detect passengers early. Team members can use their scores and feedback to assess and improve their teamwork skills.
The video below gives an overview of the tool. Please get in touch if you would like to try it out.
